Matt Cooper - Peasdown

I have lived in the Bath area for over 20 years, and my wife and I have raised two children here. I have been a volunteer helper with the local Green Party for a couple of years, helping to deliver leaflets and knock on doors of residents. I have previously been a volunteer delivery driver for an Oasis Hub Bath community food project, and I currently volunteer as a host with Food Cycle Bath.

There are two main reasons that I was attracted to the Green Party. Firstly, it is the only party that fully recognises the scale and urgency of the climate and ecological emergency. Alongside its environmental credentials, it also has a clear commitment to social justice.

I would like to see the council adopt policies to further accelerate the transition to low carbon living. Issues that are especially important to me are reducing air pollution and increasing sustainable and healthy transport options. I am passionate about protest rights, refugee rights and human rights.
