Kiaran Jay - High Littleton

I'm Kiaran, and I was born and bred in the local area. I'm very much an outdoorsman, and as such have developed a passion for protecting our natural environment in any way that I can, be it by changing the way I travel, or the foods I eat. Simple solutions for big problems.

I have seen the gradual decline in environmental protection over the years, and I have become increasingly frustrated by the decisions our leaders keep making. I joined the Greens because it really was the only party that cared about issues that most of the other major parties were brushing to one side.

I try to be realistic about what is achievable, and what can be done to benefit the majority, thus I would like to see a greater focus put on improving public transport and cycling accessibility. Sustainable transport can have such a positive impact in many areas, and compared to some other issues, it is really quite achievable.

Of course, I understand that the Green party has always been somewhat of a small player in British politics, but I also believe that having the option available to vote for a green candidate is very important, even if it's only to vote for an alternative party to the tried and tested system that has governed us for so long, in a way that has been undeniably detrimental to many.
