Hello, I’ve been a member of the Green Party for over twenty years, having joined when I realised other parties just weren’t serious or committed enough when it came to environmental issues, which have now become the most pressing issues of the day.
I’ve lived in Keynsham for almost twelve years, and have enjoyed exploring the beautiful countryside around this area and getting involved in local wildlife and community events.
I work in the renewables sector as a heat pump installer, and enjoy the optimism this gives me about possible solutions for heating homes without producing masses of damaging carbon dioxide.
I enjoy walking and have written a guide to walks in the local area.
In terms of what I would like for BANES, I would like to see the council supporting local action towards beautifying and protecting our local area, especially the wonderful river Avon. I would also like to develop cross party action to support what is best for the community, rather than the political aims of the party. I feel that whatever benefits the environment benefits the community, even if that be in the long term.
