I first became a member of the Green Party in 2010, when as a student studying Environmental Sciences, I realised that we needed a more just and equitable society if we wanted a better world. I now understand that these things are essential not just for a better world, but for a habitable one.
Working in the environmental industry, I see on a daily basis the importance of effective policy, communication and sustainability. These are all elements of a healthy and functioning community and are core values for the Green Party.
Recently moving to Odd Down and becoming a parent have driven home to me that we are not doing enough to care for the vulnerable in our community. We are also failing to preserve our existing green spaces, and provide safe, cost effective alternatives to car travel.
I look forward to championing accessible and clean green spaces in Odd Down while ensuring that safe walking and cycle routes are established.
