Edmund Cannon - Keynsham North

I moved to Keynsham in 1997 on getting a job at the University of Bristol, where I am now a professor of economics.

Although my research speciality in economics is pensions, I am convinced that the most important question of our time is saving the environment and this led me to join the Green Party.

It is great to live in Keynsham, which is a fabulous town with amazing people, but I think that Keynsham could be so much better. For example, poor management of the High Street refurbishment meant the work took too long and is still unsatisfactory; local shops have suffered or closed as a result.

The Green Party vision is to have successful local businesses serving their communities while preserving the local and international environment. If I am elected I shall bring integrity and competence to the council and work tirelessly to master the details necessary to ensure that local government services are effectively and efficiently provided to benefit everyone in our community.
