Martin Dimery to Focus on the Coming General Election Campaign

Martin Dimery, the Green Party’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the new Frome and East Somerset constituency, is standing down from his role as leader of the Green Party group on Somerset Council in order to focus on the coming General Election campaign. He will remain on the council, however. Councillor Dave Mansell has been selected as the new group leader.

At the Corporate Policy Development and Scrutiny Panel held on 16th January, Sam Ross, the Green Party Councillor for Clutton and Farmborough, issued an important statement regarding the Somer Valley Enterprise Zone (SVEZ). Councillor Ross highlighted significant concerns about the environmental impact, traffic congestion, and the potential adverse effects on local communities.
