We are living in dangerous times if they are planning to put Paul Raithby in jail for sitting on a road.
Paul was Found guilty this week by City of London Magistrate's Court for sitting in the road next to Parliament Square after the police prohibited him from doing so. His defence: wishing to express “freedom of thought, conscience and religion” under article 9 of the Human Rights Act, along with necessity - “due to the World being on fire”.
The Government is soon to vote on the Criminal Justice Bill. How will any of us get our voices heard if “the act of being a nuisance” is allowed to be passed?
