Greens Give Feedback to B&NES Council Air Quality Action Plan

27 February 2017

On the 24th February 2017, we sent in our suggestions for the Air Quality Action Plan being set out by BaNES council. In it, we have highlighted the following points amongst others:

  • Everybody should benefit from the changes proposed in this plan, whether located in the centre or outskirts of the city
  • Become a BreatheLife City and benefit from the assistance of the World Health Organisation
  • Focus money on hydrogen and electric buses – or as a short-term solution, retrofit current buses to reduce emissions
  • Invest in regular, cheap, reliable public transport from the journey’s source - not a car journey to a park and ride car park followed by a short bus journey
  • Prioritise developing safe routes to every school so that children can be encouraged to walk and cycle to them

Most importantly, our focus as residents and representatives of Bath, should be to #LetBathBreathe.
