Jonathan Carr Resigns

Dear Members and Supporters of Bath and NE Somerset Green Party,

With a heavy heart I am resigning as a Councillor of Bath and North East Somerset. For several months I have been without a permanent home and have relied on the kindness of friends to ensure I had somewhere to live. Unable to afford a place to live in Bath, I was offered a job role outside of the area and will have to leave Bath. Therefore I do not feel I will be able to continue to perform my duties as a Councillor and representative for the people of Bath, and so with regret believe it's appropriate that I should resign from this position.

Whilst I'm sad to be leaving Bath, I'm happy that the Greens have chosen a fantastic prospective replacement, Vipul Patel. Vip is a resident of Abbey ward and I'm sure he has all the skills and experience to bring to the role of councillor in the ward.

It has been a great privilege to serve on the Council, and I would like to thank all the officers for their assistance and hard work, as well as the other Councillors for welcoming me onto the council and their dedication to public service.

I wish B&NES and its staff all the best in their ongoing work, resilience in these difficult time, and success in meeting the challenges of the future. I hope most of all for a bright and prosperous future for the people of Bath.

Yours sincerely,

Cllr Jonathan Carr
