Autumn Conference 2016 - New Party Leader to be Announced

30 June 2016

Autumn Conference

The University of Birmingham will host the Green Party’s 2016 autumn conference on 2nd - 4th September where the party’s new leader will be announced.

It will also offer the party’s members a final opportunity to say goodbye to outgoing leader Natalie Bennett who will make her last leader’s speech. The result of the deputy leadership contest will also be announced, as will the result of the other positions being contested in the leadership and executive elections.

There will be a stimulating and packed three-day programme of policy-making, topical discussions, training and evening social sessions. By the end of July there will be a detailed timetable available, including three panel debates, 24 fringe sessions on a variety of topical subjects and a training programme. See the outline timetable here. Until the 8th of July, members can input to the selection process for fringes and panels via the online survey on the members' website.

Members can register online via the members' website. You can book for as many or few days as you like, and can even pay on the door if you don't wish to book in advance. Non-members are also welcome to attend as 'Observers' at the same rates. There's a limited access fund for those who would struggle with the costs.

To find out more about the policies we will be discussing at this conference, see the First Agenda on the members' website. The deadline for submitting amendments is 15 July and the prioritisation ballot closes on 20 July.

To arrange travel, hotel or if you have any other questions, please email our local Secretary, Louis Williams, or our local Coordinator, Jon Lucas.
